Famously Known as "tourist paradise", the state of Goa is located on the western coast of india in the coastal belt known as konkan.The architectural wonders like its temples, churches have made Goa a firm favorite with travellers around the world. Goa is much more than just beaches and sea.

Goa was liberated by the Indian army from Portugese colonization on December, 19th, 1961 and became a Union Territory. On May 30, 1987 Goa was conferred statehood and became 25th state of Indian Republic.

The vast expanse of the Arabian sea on the west forms the magnificient coastline for which Goa is justly famous. Panaji is the state capital located on the banks of the Mandovi river.

Goa has an International/National airport located at Dabolim near Vasco.The sea and rivers abound in seafood- prawns, mackerels, sardines, crabs and lobsters are the most popular with the locals and the visitors. Goa is a major destination on the itinerary of international and national tourists. Goa is well connected by airline services to most major cities in India.

Inspite of being a coastal land in a tropical climate, Goa is blessed with 6 months of temperate weather. From October to March, it is perfect weather for Sunbathers who do not want to risk Sunburn. The winter in December and January, can bring Chilly nights. Monsoons from June to September bring heavy rainfall and relief from the summer heat.

Goa is fairly easy for tourist travel. Private taxis are both readily available and easily arranged for. Another popular choice is travelling by Two wheelers.
